About Us

Origo Environmental Consulting Ltd. is based in Campbell River, British Columbia with service and representation throughout Vancouver Island. The company provides a wide range of environmental management and geotechnical services.

From our foundations within the oil and gas sector managing multi-million dollar exploration projects, to working in the environmental sector with individual homeowner, local businesses, real estate, construction trades, and local government agencies – Origo Environmental has the skills and ability to apply sound technical and grounded management decisions in all of its projects.

Paul Begg, PGeo QEP – Principal

In 2015 Paul saw a need to blend biological sciences with geoscience, and he formed Origo Environmental Consultants Ltd. to satisfy the need for a growing demand in environmental management and geoscience services in mid-Vancouver Island.

Paul has over 40 years’ experience as a geoscientist. During his career he has worked with several major energy companies in numerous countries in a professional capacity, and has extensive experience at a technical level looking after multi-million-dollar projects.

In 2013 he formed Origo Geoscience Consultants Ltd, and then its sister company, Origo Environmental Consulting Ltd. in 2015. His specialties include 3D seismic acquisition and subsurface evaluation, and he brings these ‘big project’ skills to the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and environmental geoscience world where Origo Environmental is successfully developing a presence on Vancouver Island.

Paul is licensed by EGBC and APEGA to conduct geoscience in the Provinces of British Columbia and Alberta and is a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
