Origo Environmental Consulting Ltd and was formed in 2015 to provide biological and geoscience services to satisfy the growth in demand for environmental management services on Vancouver Island.
This was envisaged as an expansion of the services that was originally offered by our sister company, Origo Geoscience Consultants Ltd, which provides geoscience services to the energy sector.

Paul Begg, PGeo QEP CESCL : Principal
Paul has over 35 years’ experience as a geoscientist. During his career he has lived and worked within a variety of different cultures with several major energy companies and in numerous roles. He has witnessed the need for sound environmental practices and a fundamental HSE culture within business.
His specialties include geophysical remote sensing, seismic acquisition and project management where he brings these ‘big project’ skills into the environmental geotech world where Origo is successfully developing a presence on Vancouver Island.
Paul is licensed by EGBC and APEGA to conduct geoscience in the Provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. Paul is also a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead with ESCA BC.
Paul has a BSc Honours degree in Geophysics and Geology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and an MBA from the Athabasca University, Alberta.
Kayt Chambers, RPBio – Biologist
Kayt has been working as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) since 2006, while having nearly two decades of experience as an environmental technician.
Early work experience included a series of resource management contracts in marine and terrestrial habitat productivity surveys (Riparian Areas Assessments, Drinking Water Quality Sampling, Bird, Invertebrate and Small Mammal Surveys, Salmonid Stock Assessments, Zooplankton Sampling, Amphibian Habitat Assessments, Shoreline Biophysical Assessments, Forage Fish Habitat Assessments, etc.).
More recent experience has expanded on this past work and grown to include Long-term Monitoring services for Compensation Habitat projects, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) services, Environmental Management Planning (EMP) services, Construction Monitoring, and Development Permit Application (DPA) services.
Cory MacNeill – Geologist and GIS Tech
Cory has recently returned to Canada after working internationally for the past 8 years. He is an outgoing and versatile geologist with a 12-year background in subsurface resource projects, aquifer/groundwater analysis and characterization, and GIS mapping.
Moving in to 2019, Cory will focus on providing a broad range of hydrogeological services for Origo Environmental Consulting Ltd, including water well assessment, design, drilling, pump completion, water monitoring design/implementation and ongoing data acquisition. He is also interested in growing Origo’s GIS capabilities by delivering high quality and competitive rate GIS services with an interest in data intensive regional to local scale mapping and modelling projects.
Cory is available to work on a variety of projects and has extensive knowledge in planning, managing and executing field operations on-site or remotely. He is a past member of APEGA, currently registering with EGBC.
